Knowledge 2 - Art, Multimedia and Music Event - Page 2 of 4
Contributions:
There were about twenty five artists involved in the event from a wide variety of different disciplins: Fine Artists, Film Students, Illustrators, Sculptors, Musicians, Multimedia Artists, Photographers, Animation and Digital Imaging Editors. They ranged in competance from 1st year degree students right up to MA graduates and were all eager to help out when the brief was first pitched to them.
Stings
As I was hoping to submit my work for this show as part of my MA, I set to work on making some digital stings to include on to the show-reel for the event. I made an arrangement with the digital film/animation students to composite a show-reel of their work to be projected at the event also.
It was hoped that would have a 30/60 second sting to represent each type of drugs available in today's climate. Owing to my commitments in organising the event however I did not get to spend as much time on my stings as was hoped and only completed two out of the five animations I'd started work on. (examples of which can be found by clicking the panels to the right)
Showreel
As part of the exhibition I was required to make an hr long showreel of all my students and colleagues digital work which was a mammoth task. It opens with some drug related flash animations made by my first year flash students and progresses sequentially through more experienced digital artists work up to MA level.
For first time flash users, I would have to say that they excelled themselves. My third year Multi-media students supplied some of their third year films which had been submitted to the D&AD some weeks earlier. I included my ninja film on the showreel because it has anti-cocaine undertones evident in the end sequence. I rounded off the showreel with a selection of Soichi Matsumoto's club visual work because his work was the most sophisticated in terms of editing skills.
